Is It Mouth Cancer?

Do you have a sore in or around your mouth that isn’t healing? Head and neck cancers that are in the mouth, cheek lining, gums, palate, lips, or on or under the tongue are called mouth cancers. Sometimes if the cancer is inside the mouth, it’s called oral cancer.

What Does Mouth Cancer Look Like?

Mouth cancers can look like white or red patches or like sores that don’t heal. You may also experience a lump or growth in your oral cavity.

Mouth Cancer Symptoms

In addition to sores that don’t heal, you may experience symptoms such as:

  • Pain when trying to eat.
  • Pain in the gums or loose teeth.
  • Difficulty swallowing food.
  • Lumps, sores, or patches that don’t go away.

Some patients even report feeling pain in their ears.

Does Oral Cancer Spread Quickly?
