Meet Matthew Hirsch, M.D.

Dr. Matthew Hirsch is a double board-certified Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered care. With nearly a decade of clinical experience and a background in academic medicine, Dr. Hirsch combines surgical precision with a compassionate approach to deliver outstanding results for his patients.

Dr. Hirsch earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Louisville, followed by a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital / Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York City.

Before joining San Diego Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists, Dr. Hirsch served as an Assistant Professor in the Otolaryngology Residency Program at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, where he taught residents and medical students. Most recently, he was Division Chief of Otolaryngology at the VA Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Hirsch provides comprehensive ENT care across the full spectrum of otolaryngology, in addition to performing reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the face, head, and neck. Known for his thoughtful, precise approach, he always prioritizes patient safety, comfort, and individualized care, treating each patient with the same dedication he would give his own family.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Hirsch is passionate about medical education and surgical innovation. He has authored a textbook, contributed to multiple book chapters and research publications, and continues to stay actively involved in resident training and continuing medical education.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Hirsch enjoys surfing, spearfishing, traveling, music, and spending time outdoors — reflecting his belief in maintaining balance and wellness in all aspects of life.
